New for 2025 - The Grimoire is going online!
In 2025, gothHoblin's Grimoire will be moving online! We have made the decision to step away from publishing PDFs and instead will run a magazine style website. But why? 🥺While the PDF zines remain dear to our hearts, there are many reasons and we are hopeful that it will improve our offering in a number of ways for both readers and contributors alike:
- All Grimoire issues will be available from the same place, at the same time
- Content will be searchable, categorised & tagged
- The website will be accessible and print-friendly
- Contributors will be able to link directly to their pieces, making it easier to promote themselves, send samples and enter awards
- Readers will be also able to tip contributors for their work
- We will be able to take more submissions per issue!

About the Grimoire
gothHoblin's Grimoire started as a shower thought."What if I made a zine?" I mulled it over while washing my hair, then (once emerged from the bathroom and at least mostly dry) consulted the next best thing to my own mind: those of my closest friends. Within no time the idea came to fruition, and we began work on Issue 1.The first issue received wonderful feedback from our peers within the TTRPG space, and that was affirmed when Issue 2 received an abundance of responses to a call for more contributors. This resulted in the issue almost bursting at the seams, with a pagecount almost twice that of Issue 1.Both issues were a wonderful effort from a large group of awesome people who gave their time and energy freely, and I'm really proud of what we've put together so far: a rich collection of content made with love, by people who love TTRPGs.However, the zine is (and likely always will be) a work in progress. With two issues completed, there were a lot of learnings to take on board to streamline the process. As such, going forward the zine will publish once per year in October, with a more structured approach to gathering contributions and guest creators to interview.Issue 3 has gathered yet another incredible crew of contributors and is coming October 2024!
